The two Movement System Impairment Syndromes (MSI) courses given in the Netherlands offer the opportunity to learn how to properly observe, identify, and treat impairments of the movement system.
The movements system impairment syndrome (MSI) course is founded upon the professional works of Shirley A. Sahrmann, PT, PhD. The recipient of numerous awards, Dr. Sahrmann obtained her bachelor degree in physical therapy and PhD in neurobiology from Washington University. She has numerous publications, most notably her two books: Diagnosis and Treatment of Movement Impairment Syndromes & Movement System Impairment Syndromes of the Extremities, Cervical and Thoracic Spines. Her work can still be seen today as a basis of inspiration for various current developments in the field of movement impairments.
In this 3-day course, participants will gain insight into the concepts behind the comprehensive examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the lumbar spine and hip.
Clinical Reasoning is influenced by recent advances in our understanding of how nociception from peripheral tissues may alter neural processing, how alterations in the nervous system affect movement and recurrent pain.
In this 3-day course, participants will gain insight into the concepts behind the comprehensive examination, diagnosis, and treatment of the neck and shoulder.
