Up to 90% of all Low Back Pain (LBP) is non-specific, meaning there is no clear medical reason for the problem. In addition, many people without pain have findings in X-rays or in MRI. Therefore, even discogenic findings are considered non specific. At the same time, LBP is the most costly problem in our medical system. How should we examine and treat these patients? Instead of only a structural examination, these patients should be classified functionally. Hannu Luoamjoki's system of subgrouping is a simple yet effective way of doing this. This system of treating according to subgroups has been shown to be very reliable and more effective than individual manual therapy and exercises. Take this example:
In this think tank, the background theory of LBP will be presented in an clear and succinct manner with ample room for discussion and questions. We will then move into the testing and examination for the movement control subgroup will be trained practically. These tests and treatments are all evidence based and are therefore backed by scientific studies. During the practical session, we will also dig into this evidence through a critical examination. This course will help you to be quicker and more effective in the examination and treatment of your back pain patients.
