Headache and the neck: the role of cervical musculoskeletal dysfunction
This webinar will explore the potential role of cervical musculoskeletal dysfunction in recurrent benign headaches (cervicogenic headache, migraine and tension type headache) and discuss new evidence to assist differential diagnosis. Management options will be discussed with particular emphasis on research informed multimodal rehabilitation of cervical musculoskeletal impairments associated with neck pain and headache. The importance of addressing recurrence as a primary outcome when managing cervical disorders including cervicogenic headache will be discussed.

Professor Gwendolen Jull AO, MPhty, PhD, FACP
Gwen Jull is an Emeritus Professor in Physiotherapy at The University of Queensland, Australia. She is a specialist musculoskeletal physiotherapist. Her career has combined teaching, research and clinical practice. Her research has been concerned with the diagnosis and management of idiopathic neck pain, headache and whiplash associated disorders and quantifying the dysfunction in the cervical motor system. Gwen has taught nationally and internationally and has published over 300 articles, 40 book chapters as well as three text books, including the recently published 2019 text Jull G, Falla D, Treleaven J, O’Leary S ‘Management of neck pain disorders: A research informed approach Elsevier, UK’. Gwen is also the co-editor of the international journal, Musculoskeletal Science and Practice.
