Content of Module 4 – MyO-Concept® Training
Advanced Techniques, Clinical Reasoning, Visceral Treatment, and Integrative Rehabilitation
Module 4 is the final part of the MyO-Concept® course series and focuses on deepening, reviewing, and clinically applying the skills learned in previous modules. This module integrates manual therapy, visceral techniques, structural analysis, and functional reintegration into a cohesive therapeutic approach.
1. Completion & Review of Joint Mobilisations
We complete the treatment of all major joints — both in flexion and extension. The emphasis is on:
- The cervical spine (C-spine)
- Relevant reviews from Modules 1 to 3
- Additional joints and techniques based on participant requests
2. Clinical Approach to Specific Patient Populations
We explore the application of the MyO-Concept for complex clinical syndromes, including:
- Whiplash: neurodynamics, fascial adhesions, cervical instability
- Fibromyalgia: autonomic regulation, central sensitisation, gentle manual techniques
3. Visceral Therapy and the Diaphragm
Treatment of the abdominal cavity is a key part of this module. You will learn:
- Mobilisation techniques for the diaphragm
- Palpation and treatment of visceral structures such as the liver, stomach, and intestines
- The impact of visceral tension on posture and movement capacity
4. Structural Changes and Diagnostic Imaging
We dive into the world of MRI, CT, and X-rays and focus on:
- What is structurally truly relevant to the patient’s symptoms?
- How to read and interpret imaging independently and critically
- Why radiology reports often fall short for clinical reasoning
5. Case-Based Differential Diagnosis: Including Lumbar Disc Herniation
Through clinical case studies, we analyse:
- How herniated discs present clinically
- What aspects the therapist can and cannot influence
- How recovery expectations differ between individuals
6. Proprioception, Coordination, and Functional Integration
Between passive treatment and active training lies a crucial transitional phase. In this stage, you’ll learn:
- How to reintegrate restored mobility and function into the movement system
- Which techniques support proprioceptive training and motor control
- Why this transitional phase is essential to prevent recurrence
Why This Module is Unique
Module 4 offers an integrated approach that combines imaging interpretation, clinical reasoning, visceral therapy, and functional rehabilitation. This in-depth module ensures that you as a therapist:
- Are better equipped to analyse complex pain and movement disorders
- Can treat more effectively based on the patient’s individual situation
- And are better prepared to guide patients toward sustainable recovery
