3 day course with Tom Myers

The ability to transfer power from lumbo-pelvic stability into the rotation of the shoulder, ribs, and neck requires careful coordination at the T11- L1 Thoraco-Lumbar Junction (TLJ). Most people, even athletes, move ‘around' these essential joints rather than ‘through’ them. Explore effective soft-tissue approaches to hyperflexion or extension patterns, side-bends, rotations, and simple immobility in this crucial area.

Tom Myers guides you from assessment to strategy to technique for optimal rib cage position and fascial glide. The lowest floating ribs are often recruited into these patterns, so techniques for the lateral abdominal obliques, quadratus lumborum, lateral raphé, thoracolumbar fascia, and the three major controllers of the TLJ - the diaphragm, psoas, and multifidus muscles.

Learn advanced myofascial and movement techniques to produce an even breath ‘wave’, through work with the thoracic spine and connection with the ribs and rib heads. This course is open to Structural integration practitioners, osteopaths, chiropractors, physiotherapists, and all manual therapist practitioners
