Although numerous systematic reviews and meta-analyses have been published, their conclusions are often inconsistent. Dr. Castien discusses the current scientific evidence, methodological challenges, and how to translate findings into effective clinical practice.
A tailored approach for a complex condition
For physiotherapists, treating headache requires critical clinical reasoning and an individualized approach. Understanding the neurophysiological mechanisms, results of physical assessment, and patient-specific characteristics is essential to guide treatment choices.
Rather than a “one-fits-all” approach, this webinar emphasizes how clinicians can tailor evidence-based interventions — including manual therapy, exercise therapy, dry needling, aerobic training, and multimodal approaches — to the specific needs of each patient.
Special attention is also given to manual pressure techniques, as applied at the Headache Treatment Centre in Hoofddorp.
