Jeremy is a consultant physiotherapist working in the UK-NHS, assessing and managing people with shoulder and elbow problems, where he is also qualified to perform ultrasound guided injections. He has also trained as an MSK sonographer and as an independent (non-medical) prescriber.
Jeremy is Professor of Musculoskeletal Research at the Universities of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, and, Limerick, Ireland. His main areas of research interest are musculoskeletal shoulder problems (primarily rotator cuff related shoulder pain, and, frozen shoulder) as well as tennis elbow (lateral elbow tendinopathy). He also supervises PhD and MSc students in these areas. He has a PhD and postgraduate diplomas in: Medical Imaging, Biomechanics, Sports Physiotherapy and an MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy, and practice certificates in injection therapy and independent prescribing.
In the past 5 years (as lead and co-applicant) he has been awarded £2,970,292.00 in research grants. In the past 5 years he has presented 22 keynote presentations at international conferences and 29 invited international presentations. He is a fellow of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy (FCSP) and was co-editor and author for Grieve's Modern Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy (4th edition), Elsevier.
